Outdoor Painting Barrow Hill Roundhouse

What a pleasure outdoor painting with friends, at the Barrow Hill Roundhouse.

Built in the 19th century to house freight locomotives which served the Staveley Coal and Iron Works, it is the only surviving Roundhouse Engine shed in Great Britain. To day it is run by a dedicated team of preservationists, and volunteers.

A fascinating collection of steam, diesel and electric locomotives, are all on view.

My personal favorite the Butler Henderson 506, a proper train.

Challenging to capture put totally worth the effort thoroughly enjoyed the challenge. Will certainly be paying another visit soon.
