Honoring Our Heroes: Poppies for Remembrance

Hello Everyone!

It comes round once a year. The 11th hour of the 11th month, a time to pay respect and remember the loved ones we have lost and the sacrifices that were made. As we reflect on the past and honor those who served, we must also remember to look towards the future, to keep their memories alive, and to ensure that we never forget the sacrifices that were made for our freedoms.

As we take a moment to honor and remember those who gave their lives for us, many of us find solace and comfort in creating tributes to their memory. One such tribute is a poppy painting, a beautiful and simple way to honor and remember those who have passed.

My dad was in the Royal Engineers. he did return to his family safely from action, and lived to the good age of 83. Sadly many were not so fortunate.

In my own small way a personnel tribute a poppy painting.

If you fancy painting along and doing your own poppy follow the link and print the hints and tips page for you to follow.

Colours used Winsor and Newton..... Opera Rose. New Gamboge. Cadmium Red. Aureolin. Ultramarine Blue. White Acrylic Calligraphy Ink. Holbein - Horizon Blue. M Graham - Pyrrole Red. Sennelier - Tyrian Rose.

Most important of all lots and lots of water.

Have fun and enjoy.

Happy painting
