Sweet Pea Flowers

Hi Everyone.

Here's an optimistic thought to keep you going till spring. Last week I planted some sweet peas, following Sarah Ravens advice on getting an early start, so the root system is nice and strong ready to spring into action when the sun returns.

I'm really pleased with myself, as they are already up, and showing there little heads.

At the end of late summer I painted this years efforts, which were lovely colours, and kept my kitchen filled with lovely perfume for ages.

If you want to have a try at painting sweet peas, I've published How to draw flower shapes 1, 2, and 3. On the hints and tips page to help you. There is also a written plan on How to Draw and Paint Spring Flowers.

The Materials I used for my painting are Saunders 140lb Not Watercolour Paper.

Watercolours.. Opera Rose, Quinacridone Magenta, Lavender, New Gamboge, Cerulean Blue, Aureolin, and Viridian.

No 12 size Brush, with a good point.

Happy Painting till next week

Sheila x
